About Pincode API
Pincode API is an independent India PIN code and post-office information service available at pincodeapi.in. It combines a simple postal directory with a versioned API so people can look up postal information and applications can retrieve the same type of information in JSON format.
What we provide

- Post-office pages with district, state or Union Territory, office type, delivery status and postal administration details where available.
- State, district and PIN-prefix directories for browsing.
- Search tools for PIN codes and post-office names.
- API documentation, code examples and clear error-handling guidance.
Our data sources
The directory is prepared from India Post data, Open Government Data and other publicly available government data sources. We clean and organise the records so that they can be searched and presented consistently. Pincode API is not an official India Post or Government of India website, and no government department has endorsed this service merely because public data is referenced or used.
Accuracy and corrections
Postal records can change, and public datasets can contain missing values, spelling variations, old administrative names or incorrect coordinates. We do not invent missing information. When a coordinate pair does not pass the project validation rules, it is not shown as a reliable location.
If you find a postal-data issue, please email support@pincodeapi.in with the PIN code, post-office name, the field that appears incorrect and a reliable supporting source where possible.
