What is a PIN code?
A PIN is India's six-digit Postal Index Number used to identify postal delivery areas.
Can one PIN code have several post offices?
Yes. A PIN lookup can return several post-office records.
Does this directory provide a city for every PIN?
No. The available postal records do not contain a reliable city field, so the site does not present district as city.
Can I use the data through an API?
Yes. See the API documentation and language-specific examples.
What is the current API rate limit?
The current public Starter limit is 6 API calls per 10 seconds per IP address. See the Plans page and rate-limit guide.
Is there a paid plan?
Not yet. Starter is free and live. Growth and Scale are marked Coming soon until their final prices, quotas and service terms are published.
Why can coordinates be missing?
Latitude and longitude are not present for every postal record. Coordinates are displayed only when both values are finite and fall within the configured DIGIPIN-supported range.
